To Evanston Youth Hockey Association Families:

I want to update you on our search for a new Hockey Director. The EYHA Board met several weeks ago and established a search committee which has developed a job description and have begun sending our to interested parties. We will be interviewing candidates over the next few weeks and am pleased with the interest we have received to date. We hope to have the process completed and a new Hockey Director in place by the end of June.

Title: Director of Hockey (Operations) – Evanston Youth Hockey Association

Reports to: President, Evanston Youth Hockey Association (“EYHA”)

Position Overview: The Director of Hockey shall be responsible for implementing, monitoring and evaluating the both the Travel League and House League of EYHA, which includes all of the house, travel, high school and any developmental groups (eg, girls program). The Director will oversee the coaching staff, liaise with the Board, ensure compliance with all governing body (eg, USA Hockey, AHAI, NIHL, NSYHL, etc.) rules as well as EYHA philosophy and EYHA rules and ethics.

Evanston Hockey Families,

Due to the increasing demands of my business and the impending birth of my first child (due June 24), I will be stepping down as Hockey Director. This was not an easy decision for me but I feel it is best for the kids and the program to have some one who can give them more time and energy then I can right now.

I want to thank Scott Kirkpatrick and all the board members I worked with the last 4 years for all their support. When I took the program over 4 years ago we were not in very good shape. We’ve grown and gotten better every year and I feel the future is very bright for EYHA hockey.

EYHA will always hold a special place in my heart and I hope some day to return. I wish all the kids the very best and I will miss them all very much!

Evanston Hockey Families,

We want to thank JP for all of his efforts the past four years and we appreciate all he has done for EYHA. We are certainly in a better place and JP played an instrumental role in making that happen. We wish him all the success in his business and his growing family!

The Board will be meeting this week to discuss the best course of action moving forward regarding the Hockey Director position and will keep our EYHA Families informed as we go about the process. JP will be assisting us in making a smooth transition.

Blackhawks Tickets to Benefit EYHA

As the Chicago Blackhawks are on their way to clinching the President’s Trophy, every game counts! EYHA has tickets against the Nashville Predators on Sunday, April 7th for you to see the Blackhawks live and witness history! Puck drops at 6pm.

Spring Managers Needed!

The spring season is upon us and EYHA is looking for volunteers to manage the spring teams at every level. Spring managers will coordinate communication between coaches and families as well as prepare their team for games (no game or referee scheduling involved during the spring).

The 2013 spring hockey season begins in April. This is a combined season for both travel and House League players. It’s a great opportunity for players who are contemplating a move to travel and a good way for travel players to keep skating through the spring.

Squirt Gold Brings Home a Banner!

The Wildkit Squirt Gold team won their consolation game in dramatic fashion versus the Vikings this past Saturday. Leading 2-1 late in the third, the Vikings tied the game with only 12 seconds left to send it into overtime. The Wildkits showed composure and came on strong in the opening minutes of the overtime period. Philip Grebski scored the winning goal, his third of the game, to earn the third place NIHL 2012-13 Season banner.
